Confirmed email address

We confirm a working email address via a link only you can click, before you're eligible to be matched. If you use an NHS.net, NHS Wales, NHS Scotland or hospital trust email, your profile shows an extra "NHS email verified" badge.

Signed GMC declaration

Every member gives their GMC number and job role/training grade, and signs a declaration that these details are accurate and their own. We don't run a GMC register lookup — this is a signed declaration, not a database check.

Initials-only until everyone's paid in

You'll see initials, strengths/weaknesses and a short intro — never contact details — until every pod member has accepted and paid.

Only your chosen contact method

You choose email, phone, or both upfront. Pod-mates only ever see the method(s) you chose — nothing else, and only within your own pod.

72 hours per invite, automatic refund if it falls through

Each member has 72 hours to accept and pay. If your pod doesn't end up with at least 2 people joining, you're refunded automatically in full via Stripe — you're never left having paid for a pod that didn't happen.

Meeting new people online carries some inherent risk. PodiiDoc verifies a working email address and requires a signed declaration on GMC number and job role, and facilitates matching, but doesn't check GMC registration or verify identity beyond that, and doesn't supervise pod sessions or content — we're not liable for what happens between members off-platform. In-person meetups are entirely at your own discretion; we'd always recommend starting over video call.

Good study partners shouldn't depend on who you know

Most exam prep assumes you'll sort out your own study partners. In practice that means relying on whoever's around — friends and colleagues who might be sitting a completely different exam, on a different timeline, or revising in a completely different way to you, or the same one or two people every time. Here's what a properly matched pod changes:

Surfaces different blind spots. Your regular revision partner, if you're lucky enough to have one, often shares your exact blind spots — everyone's weak areas sit in different places. We match on strengths and weaknesses too, not just exam date and availability, so your pod surfaces gaps you'd never spot alone.
A genuinely fresh set of eyes. Someone outside your own head catches errors and gaps you've stopped noticing in your own answers.
Explaining forces real understanding. Giving good advice, and learning to take feedback well, teaches you more than solo revision ever can.
More honest than revising with friends. Friends often soften feedback to spare your feelings — a matched partner is more likely to just tell you the truth.

The questions everyone has before signing up.

You can, and plenty of pods start that way — then mismatch on availability or exam date and quietly die. Signing up, getting matched and rematching with PodiiDoc is completely free; we match on exam date and weekly availability before you meet, so the pod is viable from session one. You pay £10 (inc. VAT) when you accept your match — but if your pod doesn't end up with at least 2 people joining, you're refunded automatically in full, so you're never out of pocket for a pod that didn't happen.
Every member verifies a working email address, and gives us their GMC number and job role/training grade along with a signed declaration confirming their details are accurate and their own. We don't run a GMC register lookup — the email verification is the mechanically enforced check; the GMC number and job role are self-declared. If someone signs up with an NHS.net, NHS Wales, NHS Scotland or hospital trust email, their profile also carries an extra "NHS email verified" badge. Once the pod is fully confirmed, each person's chosen contact method (email, phone, or both — whatever they told us upfront) is shared. You'll never see a method someone didn't opt into sharing, or anyone's details outside your own pod.
No. There's no time limit and no cost to search — take as long as you need, rematch as many times as you like, and you'll only ever pay once you're ready to accept and join a pod.
Totally normal, especially early on — please just try again. We're a growing platform, so the pool of doctors to match with is only getting bigger, and your odds of a good match improve as more people sign up. Widening your sitting window also helps you match sooner.
Each invite has a 72-hour response window. If, say, three of your four match accept but the fourth doesn't respond in time, they're treated as declined and the pod goes ahead with the three who accepted (as long as at least 2 people did) — you're not left stuck waiting indefinitely. If fewer than 2 people end up accepting, the pod is dissolved and everyone's released back into the pool for a fresh match — nobody's charged either way.
You're refunded automatically in full via Stripe, no need to contact us. Accepting your invite takes you straight to paying, so it's possible you're the first (or only) person to pay before the 72-hour window closes — if your pod still hasn't reached at least 2 payers by then, it's dissolved and you get your money back straight away, along with an apology and an invitation to rematch. Nobody is ever left having paid for a pod that never formed.
Please check your Junk/Spam folder first — this is by far the most common reason. Emails from a newer platform like PodiiDoc can occasionally get filtered there, especially the first time you hear from us, and especially on NHS or other work email systems. If you find one there, please mark it "Not spam"/"Not junk" so future emails (confirmation, match, and pod updates) land in your inbox. Still nothing after checking spam? No — PodiiDoc works for any postgraduate medical exam or interview: MRCP, MRCGP, MSRA, core and specialty training interviews, and more. You pick your exam or interview at sign-up and we only match you with people sitting the same one.
Matching runs automatically and looks for a match right away, but we only accept an excellent match (75%+) in your first two days waiting. If nothing's turned up by then, the bar we'll accept gradually eases — down to a good match by day 4, a reasonable one by day 6, and never below a sensible floor after that — so most people are matched well within a week, without ever being forced into a poor-quality pod early on. There's no charge or obligation while you wait, and you can widen your availability or sitting timeline at any time to improve your odds sooner.
We only use your details to verify you and find you a pod — we don't sell your data or share it outside your matched pod. Pod-mates only ever see your initials, strengths/weaknesses and chosen contact method, and only once everyone's paid in. Yes, automatically. You pay the £10 (inc. VAT) as soon as you accept your invite — you don't wait to see if everyone else joins first — but if your pod doesn't end up with at least 2 people paying within the 72-hour window, you're refunded in full via Stripe with no need to contact us, plus an apology and an invitation to rematch for free. If a technical error causes an incorrect charge, email podiidoc@gmail.com and we'll sort it out. See our Terms for the full policy.
You're never in more than one pod at the same time — that's not possible. What can happen is being matched again later: if your pod doesn't work out (someone declines, or it doesn't reach 2 payers), you're released back into the pool and eligible for a fresh match on the next run. Each time that happens you'll get a new "you've been matched" email for the new pod, but you won't be emailed about a new match more than once a day, even if your pod falls through very quickly.
